About Mushandi

Welcome to Mushandi Holdings, a leading berry and horticultural setup operating from two separate sites in Zimbabwe, one in Macheke (Home Farm) and one in Ruwa (Pinfields Farm). We have a number of features that set us apart as industry leaders that give our operation (and our berries!) a unique flavour:

- Our management team has over 40-years of high-end horticultural experience in Sub-Saharan Africa

- Pro-active investors who participate in operational management

- Established industry partnerships in Zimbabwe and overseas, ensuring market stability with superior plant genetics

- Extensive experience in horticultural and export markets in Zimbabwe, Europe and the rest of the world

- The climate of our two sites give us an edge on other producers enabling us to supply the European market four to six weeks before other world suppliers

- Strong focus on ethical farming and social practice

- Skilled local community providing a dependable and knowledgeable workforce.

Our modern methods ensure the strictest compliance to Good Agricultural Practice (GAP), and a sustainable strict standard of social and environmental rules. We are extremely committed to supplying only the freshest quality of products to the end user.

Mushandi Holdings produces strawberries and blueberries for export and local markets as well as a variety of seasonal cropping sold locally. The fresh local produce includes peas, cherry peppers, broccoli, cauliflower, sweetcorn, passionfruit, gooseberries, wheat, barley and seed maize. Waste produce is reutilised as much as possible, fruit to jam manufacturers or local pig farmers and vegetables to other farmers, our own chickens and even to wildlife rehabilitation centres. We also dry and package broccoli leaves known as ‘Mufushwa’ which is reconstituted and cooked to make a healthy local vegetable dish called ‘Muriwo’.

Our ultimate aim at Mushandi is to ensure the longevity of the Agricultural sector in Zimbabwe, particularly horticulture. We have an effective model of good farming practice that we would like to expand upon and use to this effect. With our unique seasonal window we can target out-of-season production opportunities of niche crops, which will open up huge opportunities on the international market. The possibilities are endless!
